So I don't know if this really constitutes as something that's working, but I just wanted to showcase a few of my "Disguise a Turkey" projects.

My students did such a great job with this and the families had a lot of fun being creative---so I guess you could say family projects are working in my room!  Here are a few of the complete projects:

Thank you Storie for hosting this linky party.  At this time of year I really try to reflect on the important things that may, at times, get taken for granted.  Here's my top 10 list:

 

I feel so blessed each and everyday to do what I do.  From being a daughter, a mother, and a teacher, I am so thankful for all of the people in my life!

Students solve 2-digit addition problems (with and without regrouping) to find 3 sums in a row.  My kiddos love doing this as a fast finisher activity.  I hope yours will enjoy this as well!

Listening: One of my Saturday morning rituals is watching Disney Jr. in my pajamas with my daughter.  Gotta love lazy weekends!

 

Loving: I love this time of year.  The weather changes (not much here in So Cal, but I love what little fall/winter we get); and it's time to spend with family and friends reflecting on what's really important.

 

Thinking: I really want an Erin Condren life planner.  One of the girls at work has one and it's so cute......maybe an early Christmas present to myself :)

 

Wanting: I'm keeping with the holiday theme....I love decorating---brings back fond memories of childhood and I want to pass those memories and traditions on to my daughter.

 

Needing: I need to get ready for report card time....can't believe it's here already!

 

Music: I listen to a lot of jazz and classical music to keep things calm, but I've been known to rock out in the classroom to Adele and Taylor Swift on Pandora every so often!

Every year for the past 6 years I've done this Disguise a Turkey project.  My kiddos love it and it makes such a fun bulletin board display. 

I've spruced up my directions and writing pages and have put it in my TpT store for $3.50.  It comes with teacher and student directions, 3 types of writing paper, a rubric, student planning pages, and a turkey template!
