About Me

Hi and thanks for stopping by my blog!  My name is Brandi and I am an Instructional Technology TOSA (teacher on special assignment). I love all things edtech and enjoy sharing this passion with teachers and students. Before becoming a TOSA, I was a classroom teacher for 11 years.  I taught 1st through 4th grades.

I started blogging in May 2012 as a way to connect and share my ideas and resources. At that time, I was a classroom teacher sharing the happenings in my classroom. Now as an Instructional Technology TOSA, I plan PD and coach teachers and administrators on ways to integrate technology into the classroom through sound pedagogy. Because of this change in positions, my blog will be moving more toward sharing what I do each day which is all thing tech. I hope you'll stick around for this new adventure!

A little bit about me:  I am a daughter of the King and a single mom to a precious 7  year old named Lauryn.  I've always wanted to be a teacher (except for the small stint when I wanted to be Clair Huxtable!).  I played softball growing up and earned a scholarship to play in college at the University of Massachusetts.  After that I went to grad school at Boston College before returning home to southern California.

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my daughter going on day trips to Disneyland, Sea World, and Knott's Berry Farm.

I love sports and am excited that my love of sports is spreading a little bit to Lauryn.  This past summer we went to our first Dodgers' games!  Think Blue!

My goal with this blog is to share ideas and connect with other educators.  Along the way, I've realized how much I truly enjoy creating resources for my classroom.  Reflecting back on my teaching career, I've been creating resources since I began teaching, now they're just much cuter and worthy of sharing with the blogging world!

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at successinsecondgrade@gmail.com

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Where in Cali are you teaching at? I taught in South L.A for the last 5 years and I love how you take your daughter places my sister and our friends frequent ourselves =) Have you taken her to the SD Wildlife Park? You'll both love it there if you haven't yet...it's seriously a MUST visit!
